Why all FIFA games are being pulled from circulation

Reporting from the MauroNL Twitter account, ahead of the release of EA Sports FC 24 on September 29, all FIFA games from FIFA 14 to FIFA 23 have been removed from all digital distribution stores.

Upon further investigation, it turns out that this is true. At least on Steam, Epic Games and EA App, all FIFA games have been removed, leaving only FIFA 23, which can only be accessed for a long time without any purchase options.

Now the only way for those of you who are still interested in playing the previous FIFA games is through EA Play, a monthly subscription service from EA. That, too, will most likely not last long.

EA hasn’t commented on the removal yet, but considering their relationship with FIFA has been on the rocks for the past year, it seems everyone knows what’s going on.

Annual Football Game is Naturally Short-Lived

Annual games like sports like this are usually short-lived. Every new iteration, the old series will be killed off even though it is only corn. FIFA 21 was unsupported in June 2022, then FIFA 22 was retired in May 2023, a few months after the new series was to be released.

Football games like FIFA will indeed become irrelevant when a new series that has the latest squad with updated statistics makes these sports enthusiasts do not want to see the old game again even though they have donated a lot of money to microtransactions.

The removal of FIFA from the storefront is most likely a step from EA Sports to completely escape the soccer federation which is considered too predatory. With the game no longer for sale, they no longer have to think about game license fees and can fully focus on their new, completely original brand.
